Vintage inspired lingerie – THE LOVED ONE

without comments

Do you long for the days when lingerie was feminine and understatedly sexy? The kind of high-waisted, lacy underthings worn by the irresistible bombshells on Mad Men? Dream no more. Vintage-inspired label, The Loved One, has just launched their debut lingerie collection, capturing that retro romance with perfect pitch.

Created by Brooklyn-based blogger Hannah Metz and Elvia Lahman, a vintage veteran from Los Angeles with over 20 years in the biz, the line consists of three underpants and one top and panty set with cheeky names like “Sin in the Suburbs”, “Agony of Love” and “The Bed and How to Make It”. Every piece is similarly dark, sheer and entirely womanly. Our favourite, the “Fuego” set, is a ruffle-trimmed top and panty—perfect for lounging in your boudoir.

The co-founders describe their collection as “naughty, but playful—something you’d feel comfy wearing at a slumber party with mood lighting.” Equal parts revealing and refined, this is one hot new label we’ll be lusting after for Valentine’s Day and beyond.

Vintage inspired luxury lingerie by SockBox

It always put a smile on my face when i discover a brand that is fun & cheeky in a subtle manner.  SockBox was established in 2008. The lace and polka dots in this collection grabs your attention in a good way,  and of course a variety of designs in simpler yet luxurious neutrals making these pieces timeless.
Take a look at their website http://store.sockbox.net/
I would love to purchase one of their pieces very very soon.

Vintage Aircraft Inspired Trunk, Opens Into Sturdy Work Station !

without comments

It may not protect you during a bombing raid, but the ‘Blackhawk Secretary Trunk’ will definitely add a sense of character and ruggedness to your home décor.

American furniture chain Restoration Hardware has designed a trunk inspired by aircrafts from the mid-20th -century—with intentionally-placed scratches, dents and other imperfections to give it a vintage feel.

Made with a patchwork of matted aluminum panels wrapped in hardwood, the trunk opens into a sturdy-looking workstation equipped with drawers, shelves and a computer table.

The Blackhawk Secretary Trunk is retailing at US$4,295 each on Restoration Hardware’s webstore.

Boutiques at Fort Canning

without comments

Curly Sue Vintage will be setting up a little pop up stall at the upcoming Boutiques at Fort Canning on 4 and 5 April 2012. This is the first time i’m participating in this mega flea market  and I’ve heard loads of good reviews from vendors and customers. Charlotte Cain, a danish lady who lives in Singapore is the event organizer. She has a very good eye on design and products. She hand picks all the vendors and she ensures a high quality of retail mix which is impt to both vendors and shoppers. So, if you’re looking for clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags,  kids stuff, household, etc.. Pls drop by!

.. and this is what Charlotte has to say about her event :

Boutiques at Fort Canning is distinct from the aspect that each and every vendor is selected based on the designs and products with the ultimate goal of a boutique-style fair in a gorgeous heritage park setting. BFC is very eclectic – sophisticated eclectic I would say. There are over 70 vendors spread out over the entire Fort Canning Centre ground floor –  – the gallery holds  fashion, bespoke jewellery, bags & shoes – homedecor, prints – bespoke collections from Europe etc etc. The Foyer holds more casual fashion – homedecor etc etc and Kid’s Space is dedicated to Kid related designs and products. Most vendors design the products themselves and either make them themselves, or have them produced in the area. – and we have a mission to give back as we sponsor 7 charities – these are fairtrade, Ngo’s etc – who all are invited f.o.c and who all are able to spread the word about their work, sell fairtrade products, sign-up volunteers etc etc. We have a wonderful mix of nationalities both as vendors and customers – and yes – we have grown immensely over the years – from 16 vendors to 70.

So pls pop by for a wonderful shopping experience!

Opening Hours : 4 April (9am to 8pm); 5 April (9am to 6pm)
